How can I get my classmates to recycle more?

We already know that if we take our cans to the recycling center you can get money... I cannot get them to recycle. They just throw everything away... Is there a better incentive rather than money? Should the university have there own recycling center on campus... Therefor the students will get instant rewards? I need help... Even the janitors don't care about recycling. Any ideas?

May be you can open a room in your school after school for one hour to receive recycles and then give them stickers or points for the good deeds they do.

Reply:You can try doing a fundraiser for a club at your school. Have club members and other students bring in soda cans, glass bottles, paper, batteries, etc. Many recycling places offer money for recyclables collected. All the money collected can go towards your club. Note: you may have to go to more than one recyling stations if you collect a lot, but we tried this and made just over $200.
Reply:You do it and others will follow. Just be dedicated to the cause. Various incentives help. Have a contest to see who can make the warmest compost. Make a display, but do not beg people.
