Do school projects bring classmates together or further apart?
It depends. In my case, it brought my friends and I further apart because you get to see who is responsible and who isn't. And when you notice how heck-carish and irresponsible your friends are, would you still want to de projects with them? But in some cases where I worked with others it brought us closer. It really depends on the people you work with and the situation.

for me parents are the most important influence in shaping their children for get succes in school especially in character, value and the way they are thinking and believing life.

The first link should be the correct one, but then you need to go through a labyrinthine process of answering "Yes I am sure" several time. Finally, you will get a page where you can send an e-mail to customer service, but none of the subjects available include "cancel my service". Just indicate in the e-mail that you want to cancel your account, if you pay for your account, include that information as well, and include in your signature your user ID (although it should be included in the header of the mail as well). You will get an e-mail after a day or two that your account is cancelled.

Problem with Three Classmates?
In Biology class, the whole class is full which means every chair, someone is sitting there.
Anyways, my assign seat happened to be, with two girls and a guy. Them, three always chatting about "nasty stuff", like excuse me, I'm here to do my work and they disturb me with their conversation.
Today, the guy says, "Hey, I got a tattoo, wanna see?" "The two girls is like where", and he says, "In my you know what, down there", the girl laughs and says, "I have a one on top of my butt."

Why are my classmates so passive?
My class a majority of Asians, before you judge them for their race, I'm also Asian but born American born. In our class participation is worth credit and the teacher marks it down for those who participate. I participate even if I don't know the answer. I also give people chances to answer by remaining quiet and still no one answers.
They wouldn't risk a wrong answer for participation points? I'm not saying all of them are passive but a lot of them are, maybe because some aren't born here but still I'd thought the credit would get to them. Why won't they participate?

I had a three month subscription, got in touch with my best friend from high school (which was the reason i joined) and now we just talk on the phone or on myspace, if you are looking for someone specific, you should look to see if they are on the site before you pay for it.
As far as fond high school memories, I have tons, but to name a few..worshipping pringles, parties in the courtyard, "devil worshippers", toilet papering a kid and using gum to stick it to him..hot dog collage that got us a weeks worth of in school suspension..ahh the good old days

I keep hearing about how most people go there to "hook-up" with old flames, and just thinking about it pisses me off. Please tell me your stories of disaster or are there some people out there just innocently looking up people just to say "hi". I am skeptical .

I keep having questions for my professor. and every time i ask the professor out of class she tells me to ask questions in class. Iam in astronomy and I ask about rouge planets ( planets without an orbit) and this jerk interupts me asking the professor and says iam talking about sci fi and to keep it to myself.this is what hammers me on tests. the "question police" how can i get him out of the class. he has to go or stop.

I have personally delt with this particular brand of butthead, ask as many questions as you can. If it pisses them off, tough. At least you are getting the knowledge you want!

Why are my classmates dropping out like flies??
Im a first year nursing student and when I first started there, were about 40 students in my class. It sems as if the first week 2 people dropped out. Now 3 other people just stopped going out of the blue!!! I also know another girl in nursing school that seems to have the same thing going on at her school.
Why is it that EVERYONE is leaving?????

Not just in nursing school, but in college in general. My grad program was very selective and after 2 years exactly half ended up dropping out. I think this is standard.
Just be sure you are one that stays.

There are many other reasons too: money, time, depression, pressure, change of career..etc. It happens all the time!
Good Luck with your career.. I wanted to be a Doctor but changed my mind. Now I want to do Business Management (International),
accounting, and real estate. You're doing fine, continue your good work; it will pay off.

B) Student is not academically ready to tackle demanding coursework in higher education (particularly older students who have been out of school a long time)
C) Life/family pressures; particularly older students again, as they often have full time jobs so school is second priority. If you can't devote enough time to study you are going to end up failing, regardless of the subject.

Maybe your classmates have gotten a taste of nursing and they don't like it.

Another reason for a few of the drop outs could be personally, financial or simply that they've decided nursing isn't what they want to do. The problem with pressuring 17 and 18 year olds to start college and a career path directly after high school is that most are not ready to dedicate themselves to an area of study, thus the reason that so many change their majors at least once or twice before graduation and the reason that many drop out or take time off schooling. Remember, college isn't for everyone and isn't the only path to success.
Reply:People leave or "withdraw" from class for various reasons. Maybe they don't like the teacher, or maybe they've overloaded themselves with too many classes for the semester and plan to take it next semester.. As you continue you academic career you'll continue to see this pattern..

One of our classmates died this week and my best friend was good mates with him, he is absolutley distraught..
How can I comfort him!!! I have been friends with him ever since I was a little girl, around 14 years now (we are 16) He was really close to my friend I personally didnt know him that well, but he lost a battle with cancer, he was 16 and everyone is in shock, the schools atmosphere is terrible. But I need to know how to comfort my friend, i know he is upset and that but I need to make him feel better. Help!

simply be there for him when he needs you and try to get him to recall happy moments with this friend. your friend might be gone, but the memories will last forever. and mention to him that i'm sure his friend would not want him to stop living his life because he's no longer in it. if anything this friend that you're trying to comfort should NOW begin to live life to it's fullest.......in honor of his friend!!!! Good Luck %26amp; be sure to give him lots of hugs!!!!

I'm really sorry for your school's loss. It's a horrible thing when someone so young dies, especially of something like cancer.
Reply:its hard. believe me ive lost alot of friends due to car accidents. one minute they are here and the next its like gone. i think youll always remember them in a good way thats life. and one thing i think knowing that they are not in pain. such as your friend having cancer is so hard. my dad died early with cancer. id say talk about it . if he feels like just over and over talking about it.. let him. and time does heal. it does. but it takes along time. not going to happen over night .
Reply:one of my classmates sisters died year before last (she was 5 when she died) and the thing that we had to do is really just back off and not mention it. it took about 6 months for her to not cry every day about it. but the best thing to do is to go to his funeral and be beside him and just try to support him all you can.
Reply:What a wonderful young person you are. This restores faith in the young people of today. It is a tragedy of monumental proportions especially so young. I know this sounds trite, but there is only one thing you can do. Make sure you tell your friend you are there for him and you realise he is hurting but you can't begin to imagine how much. You must let him go through what is called the "grieving process" which can also be called the "healing process". You know when you hit yourself with something and the pain is really severe? After a little time of feeling down about the injury, you find the hurt begins to fade and you start to live normally again. This process is what your friend is going through now. He is hurting terribly, and to stop that hurt, he needs to get it out of his system, like an infection that must be treated in order to enable recovery. The more he cries, the sooner he will heal.
Just be there for him, and once in a while put your arm around him and let him know you care.

Reply:one of my classmates sisters died year before last (she was 5 when she died) and the thing that we had to do is really just back off and not mention it. it took about 6 months for her to not cry every day about it. but the best thing to do is to go to his funeral and be beside him and just try to support him all you can.
Reply:What a wonderful young person you are. This restores faith in the young people of today. It is a tragedy of monumental proportions especially so young. I know this sounds trite, but there is only one thing you can do. Make sure you tell your friend you are there for him and you realise he is hurting but you can't begin to imagine how much. You must let him go through what is called the "grieving process" which can also be called the "healing process". You know when you hit yourself with something and the pain is really severe? After a little time of feeling down about the injury, you find the hurt begins to fade and you start to live normally again. This process is what your friend is going through now. He is hurting terribly, and to stop that hurt, he needs to get it out of his system, like an infection that must be treated in order to enable recovery. The more he cries, the sooner he will heal.
Just be there for him, and once in a while put your arm around him and let him know you care.

If it's a "schoolyard scuffle" I taught my son to be assertive not aggressive.
Meaning stand up for himself and face up to a bully, but DO Not hit first. Use a loud commanding voice.
If you get hit, all bets are off. Defend yourself with all you have and you could get the respect you deserve.
Bully's are usually cowards anyway.
If you mean your life is in danger contact the Principal, and make sure the school administration and the police are involved. (also do not be afraid to tell your parents)
If the Principal doesn't follow through, make these calls yourself.
This could be a criminal matter at that point and the more responsible parties, the more likely you are to get someone to respond.

The only advice I can tell you, is that if you keep showing them, that their nasty remaks are affecting you then they will continue. I got teased in High School and so did my sister, but they stoped because I did not let their pointless blabber affect me, you need to do the same.

What did you do in grade school to annoy other classmates?
Ok, I’m sitting here today thinking about the new football season that is just about to begin tomorrow night. Thursday’s night game will feature the Miami Dolphins @ Pittsburgh Steelers. The Dolphins are my favorite football team and I’m pretty pumped up about seeing the game!
Anyway, I started to think of second-sixth grade and remembered I use to have these pencils that featured all of at that time 28 NFL teams. I got them every year. I would have never of started the school year if I didn’t have those damn NFL Team Logo Pencils.
I remember I use to put the teams logos together of who would be playing each other for that week. I would set the pencils upright and then knock them down as if the pencil resembled a football player and was getting tackled. I remember it very vividly and that I use to make the grunt noises while imagining that I was simulating a real life football game! I can’t imagine what the people thought sitting around me. It had to drive my fellow student’s and classmate’s nuts. I also remember simulating playoffs and the super bowl with my favorite teams. It’s no wonder I didn’t feel like I learned anything in elementary school…
So out of boredom I went out today and bought a set of the NFL Team Logo Pencils! I’m sitting at my cubical right now making the playoffs happen again at the age of 36! Just thought I would share this information with you. It’s frivolous but hopefully it will make someone’s day today! Hell it might even get you thinking about some of the weird things you did in grade school.

my friends in schools...at first when i meet them they are very very nice to me.. but i think now that we know each other several years they ignore me..i think i should change my style.. bringing cool stuffs with me.. and changing my appearance.. do you think it helps???

in friendship, the most important thing is not appearance but your whole personality. try to introspect and see what qualities you currently have. it may not only be your appearance but your traits/habits that you need to change. bad attitude is a major turn-off in friendship so see if there are some attitudes that you need to change.
with regards to your appearance, there's nothing wrong in putting your best foot forward. if it will make you more confident and feel better, then do so. but don't try to be someone you are not because it will make you look awkward and trying-hard - thus, you'll end up pushing away people away from you.
Reply:nooooooo , when u wanna change try to make it without anyone noticing , so take small steps that will brings u to the top later on but u have to be patient , everyone is special in several things , the smart thing to do is not to show them what u r good in so u wont be showing off or anything , instead let them find out those things , for an example , if they dont know a lot about u then this is something u can use for ur own good , cuz since they dont know much about u as soon as they find out cool things about u they will change their mind quickly cuz they dont have any previous thought to hold on too ,and the point is to wow them everytime they think that they have known enough about u where it should seems like they only knew a bit of who u really r , but the problem is that they know u for a long time so they ptobably know a lot about u , in this case it will be harder to change what they think about u but u can try , u can start becoming nicer to everyone around u , try to be funny ( dont try hard , just small comments on things that happens in class , sarcasm would do good ) , just try to become better at everything u do but dont show off , never , this is the worst thing u can do , it will ruin ur whole reputation , and u can start changing things in ur appearance if u think that this will help but dont make it so fast , like dont come the next day with a whole make over , just come the first week with something improved and the next week with another thing improved , and the week after it till u become a whole new person and before u know it they will start liking u again , ......... but never forget those who were ur friends before

For me, i grow tired of the same company after a year or so, so I frequently try to hang out with different groups. So i'll advice you to do the same, talk to other people, so if just in case you end up with a slightly more serious problem with your relationship with your classmates, you can seek them out for company. People change with the times, you should too. ;)

At school, i had a group of "friends" who did the same sort of thing to me- in grade 5,6, and 7-we were the best of friends and liked all the same stuff and all of us did very well at school. However, suddenly in grade 8- they hated me.
And it feels so sudden and you do feel rather rejected. I was pretty upset about it at first, but I realised if I was happy with who I was- then no bitches are going to be able to change that. So i continued being myself and i met new more friends- people who were very nice to me and continued to be :)
If you are happy and comfortable in your style- do not change it for them. Although they might see you 6 hours a day, it is you who has to look at and live with yourself the WHOLE DAY!! So you have to be happy with you dress and how you act and who you are. Unless you need the "cool stuff" there is no use bringing it to school cause it is just a target for theft and vandalism.
I really think you should take the upper hand and ditch these so called friends and start talking to some new people- I guarantee you will be SOOO much happier being WHO YOU ARE and hanging around new people who accept you for that, than hanging around a bunch of people who will like your style one day but then decide they dont the next- just for the sake of being bitchy.

in friendship, the most important thing is not appearance but your whole personality. try to introspect and see what qualities you currently have. it may not only be your appearance but your traits/habits that you need to change. bad attitude is a major turn-off in friendship so see if there are some attitudes that you need to change.
with regards to your appearance, there's nothing wrong in putting your best foot forward. if it will make you more confident and feel better, then do so. but don't try to be someone you are not because it will make you look awkward and trying-hard - thus, you'll end up pushing away people away from you.

Why do my classmates dislike me so much?
I just moved into a black environment and it seems like it's very hard for me to make friends...I already have enemies but i haven't done anything to anybody!! I try to be myself and keep my mouth shut about other people but they still dislike me...they always talk about the way i talk ... Is it because I talk proper and not slang? Today in class we watched the movie The Patriot, in the scenes when the canons shot OUR soldiers head off, and our soldiers legs off, they all laughed and cheered...
I mean I know it is Hollywood and fake effects, but thats real stuff, OUR AMERICAN SOLDIERS!!! Who fought for this country, it is resembling stuff that really happened, in real life, American soldiers wrote in their journals "The guy next to me had his head blown off by a canon ball" or something along the lines of that.
It truly makes me sick...

Why do my classmates like to give lap dances to each other?
Yesterday, my class had this Christmas party. A high schooler came into the classroom and gave a lap dance to this girl, who's birthday was that day. Now, high school and the entire 8th Grade was giving each other lap dances, while the teacher was in there! The teacher told them to stop, but they kept doing it anyway. So I waited until 10:30 (that is the time when parents can pick up their child anytime, without being counted absent), and called my parents to pick me up. I was sad because it was Christmas and I don't think Christmas was made so teenagers around 13 and 14 and 16 can give lap dances to each other. Why are they like that? In my opinion, I think BET is to blame...

I can see where your coming from when your talking about BET, but I honestly don't think that's the main reason why people are doing it. Lap dancing usually has to with sexual pleasure, so IMO, the main reason why they were doing it was just to give themselves sexual pleasure. I honestly don't agree with it, but whatever makes someone feel good is what they'll do without even thinking about it. Its ridiculous, but its one of those trends for many teenagers today.
I don't understand why you can't just have fun and socialize at a party without trying to make it look like a strip club. Were the people who were involved in all of this really that desperate? Were they that indiscriminate that they decided to have fun by a sexual act during school hours? I always tell people that there's a difference between the words "fun" and "reckless." They're both adjectives, but reckless means going out of control and having no concern for anything. Fun means just having a good time without overdoing it. You can't have "reckless fun." So in this case, it wasn't just one of those "let them be kids" kind of situations. That's something that's uncalled for, especially on school grounds during a Christmas party. I think that society in general is to blame. (Not just the media) Very few parents in my opinion instill any good morals or values in their children. That's why when I see questions like "OMG I'M PREGNANT AT 14!" or something like that I think to myself, that person set themself and their child up. Sure, we're human and we all make mistakes, but can't people actually try to learn from them instead of living by them? I applaud you for standing up and being mature, and have a nice holiday.

I can see where your coming from when your talking about BET, but I honestly don't think that's the main reason why people are doing it. Lap dancing usually has to with sexual pleasure, so IMO, the main reason why they were doing it was just to give themselves sexual pleasure. I honestly don't agree with it, but whatever makes someone feel good is what they'll do without even thinking about it. Its ridiculous, but its one of those trends for many teenagers today.
I don't understand why you can't just have fun and socialize at a party without trying to make it look like a strip club. Were the people who were involved in all of this really that desperate? Were they that indiscriminate that they decided to have fun by a sexual act during school hours? I always tell people that there's a difference between the words "fun" and "reckless." They're both adjectives, but reckless means going out of control and having no concern for anything. Fun means just having a good time without overdoing it. You can't have "reckless fun." So in this case, it wasn't just one of those "let them be kids" kind of situations. That's something that's uncalled for, especially on school grounds during a Christmas party. I think that society in general is to blame. (Not just the media) Very few parents in my opinion instill any good morals or values in their children. That's why when I see questions like "OMG I'M PREGNANT AT 14!" or something like that I think to myself, that person set themself and their child up. Sure, we're human and we all make mistakes, but can't people actually try to learn from them instead of living by them? I applaud you for standing up and being mature, and have a nice holiday.

Reply:Lap dances are a sexual thing. With teenagers hormones going haywire at that age, sex is something that is on a lot of teenagers minds (even girls). So... with teens giving each other lap dances, It's about pushing the envelope and exploring their sexuality. I agree 100% with you that kids at that age shouldn't be doing stuff like that.
