Why do my classmates dislike me so much?

I just moved into a black environment and it seems like it's very hard for me to make friends...I already have enemies but i haven't done anything to anybody!! I try to be myself and keep my mouth shut about other people but they still dislike me...they always talk about the way i talk ... Is it because I talk proper and not slang? Is it because I'm not black enough? But I'm light skinned...!!!

Why do my classmates dislike me so much?
I'm not light-skinned and they talk about me too sometimes.


They're just ignorant. They really don't know about better.


They're what's called GHETTO, and you're not.


You should feel blessed that you are different. You will get a lot farther in life not being ghetto than if you were. Mainstream America does not respond well to ghettoism, and many black people find it hard to turn off their ghettoism and it holds them back in life because of their lack of professionalism.
Reply:You may be Too shy, excited annoying (no offense) or just dislikable. or maybe people in ur skool are to stuck up and dont want to get to know you better
Reply:They are jealous. Whatever you do, don't cave into lowering your standards just to be popular in high school. Remember, that there is a whole lot of life after high school and you stand a better chance of being part of a better crowd if you keep your standards high, get ready to go to college and have a good profession. Peer pressure is at it's worst in high school and believe me if you can play past it, you will have a more exciting life.
Reply:Tell them that you are new and want to be friends with them.But you need to work on the talking thing yourself.
Reply:Stop the worry game its hard for almost everyone to make friends and I mean real friends. Enemys come a dime a dozen in america where greed is taught as the way of life. Just be yourself and dont dwell over what other people say about you because its YOU that decides who you are. Its probably alot of factors that make these people your enemy and non friends figure out what thouse are and then work on thouse qualitys you can control in yourself that are holding you back before you try to work on the reasons of others.
Reply:some black people just make fun of you because they just wanna make fun of you.have you tried telling your parents or your teachers about it?they could probably help you with it.it sounds like you have been doing the right thing in school.
Reply:okay. please don't get that way of thinking into your head. its one of my pet peeves. I am sorry that you are not fitting in. but everybody is not going to like everybody. thats just life. and that happens to anybody, regardless of race, age, or whatever, when they are in an environment with people who they don't act and speak like. especially in high school. as far as the enemies go, don't worry about them. if they are "teasing" you or something like that, stand up for yourself and tell someone in authority. but you can't make them not dislike you. thats their problem. but i am 100% certain that in your entire school, you will find some friends. just remain positive and STOP WORRYING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE!!!
