They tell you someone has written you or "signed your guestbook", and so you sign up for 3 months, just to see who it was. In my case, the person who "signed my guestbook" was someone I never knew. They signed by visiting my profile, not by taking any other action. The email thing is a joke, because both members must be paying members in order to communicate.
Then, when the 3 months was up, without any warning, and w/o my approval, they charge dme for another 3 months, and refuse to refund it, even though I caght it on the very same day they charged me!
What a total scam.
Classmates.com is a big rip-off. Agreed?
You can get your money back, I did it wasn't easy. Calling them will do no good. You won't be able to get hold of a person you'll get a recording. So what you need to do is call your bank. Or credit card company. whoever classmates charged. They will have a phone number to classmates that is not on the classmates website. You will have to tell the bank which charge you are disputing to get the phone number. Don't dispute the payment to the bank, Most banks will charge you some type of fee to dispute. Get the phone number to classmates. You should get a live person. Tell them when you signed up that you clicked the box that said no re-occuring payment. They can't prove or disprove weather you did or didn't. Be polite but firm that you want your money back. If the person who you are talking to won't help. Ask for the manager. if they don't help keep going up the ladder. If they hang up on you. Call back then tell them that you are recording this conversation and it will be broadcast on you tube. That should do it.

Reply:Yeah, I hear you. I disagree with the way they're doing things anymore. They didn't used to be that way. I've actually found a couple of high school friends I wouldn't have otherwise but that was back when it didn't cost like that. Nowadays, it sucks!
