they are doing it for one of two reasons, either they are sincearly troubled and that is their way of making their body hurt as much as they are hurting inside. and if that is the case you need to tell someone so they can get help before they seriously hurt themselves. Or they are doing it because other people are doing it and that is their way of trying to fit in, and in that case you need to smack them because thats a terrible thing to do to yourself especially to fit in.
