My 5y/o wont communicate with her classmates?

shes 5y/o about to start kindergarten this year. her pre-k teacher has been telling me that she doesnt initiate a conversation with her classmate , she only answers question by her teacher, says a couples words thru the day but never hold out a conversation with a friend, she plays very well with all the kids but dont say a word! is very frustrating for me because at home she is very chatty with me , sis, dad. She also takes speech therapy but her teacher think she doesnt need it because the few times she heard her talk she understands very well what she saying.its been a year of pre-k and her teacher never heard her speak in a conversation with a friend, she only hears her talk comfortable when i come by to pick her up thats the only time a day she hear my daughter speak out loud and easy. is it shyness? selective mutism? i dont know im thinking of talking with a child psychitrist. if u relate to this problem plz im all ears!!

I would take her to a child psychitrist to see what is going on. Be thankful that she will at least talk some infront of other people. I have a friend that her daughter does not talk to anyone outside of her immediate family. She is 11 years old and has been diagnosed with selective mutism.
Reply:She may just be really shy, and is only comfortable with talking to you and other family members....I was the same way, but I've always just been really shy with people I don't know. She should grow out of it, and if not ask her speech therapist about it.
Reply:Its either shes in the wrong class with DS children or she hates everyone in the world. Solution: TAKE HER TO CHURCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
