Need help with daughters classmates party.?

My daughter just started kindergarten and her friend invite our entire family to her birthday cook out party. I need help in what to wear. My daughter was the only one invited from the class, so I don't know if any other children will be there.

Here is a run down on what we thought we would wear.

my daughter - capri's with matching top

My 2.5 year old - a long sleeve red shirt and jeans.

Myself - jeans, with t-shirt and short sleeved button down jean shirt over that.

Hubby - jeans and a t-shirt.

Do you think this is okay. We don't know the family or any one else who is invited.

Sounds good. Its a cookout. Don't over analyze things. Just be yourself.
Reply:What you propose sounds fine but why not simply pick up the 'phone and ask your hostess. You, after all, would not be offended if the situation were reversed would you? She has extended the hand of friendship so one may assume she is interested in developing this new relationship. I'm sure she won't find it odd if you say something along the lines of, " We're really looking forward to the cookout. I assume it is to be a casual affair?"
Reply:Your daughter's outfit sounds good, but for the 2.5 year old, I would try a button down casual shirt and jeans or kaki's. For you, capris and a tank top or a summer dress. For your hubby, maybe jeans and a buton down casual shirt or a polo.
Reply:sure thats fine
Reply:that's ok but i would wear a dress or tankk top and jeans.
Reply:The focus of the cookout is the BIRTHDAY CHILD. Not for you and your family to make a fashion statement. What YOU wear is not important.
Reply:wear balet flats and a v neck shirt that is white and jeans capris.

2 year old. a mini jeans skirt, and a jeans jacket and whatever top.

and 6 year old is okay.

hubby-a polo and khaki shorts.
