Classmates.Com: How do I cancel?

OK they are notorious but I didn't know that when I registered. Nothing they say on their site about canceling works. Does anybody have an 800# or an actual contact address? I will send snail mail to WA address if no one can supply me with a web address that works. Forget clicking on "if you want to cancel". It leads nowhere. What a pain!!!@#$%^%26amp;*

Classmates.Com: How do I cancel?
If your using yahoo email, just click spam button with out opening the email if all else has failed
Reply:Go to the site but not signed in, and scroll to the bottom. Click the link "Terms of Service" (make sure your pop up blocker is off for this) and in the index, choose 8 (Termination/Cancellation). This is what it says, in case you do not want to go to the website:

"You may terminate your registration at any time by contacting our Member Care Department. If you have a dispute with us relating to the Website or the Services, you may cancel your registration or cease use of the Website. The cancellation of your membership or ceasing all use of our Website is your only remedy with respect to any such dispute that you may have with us. We will attempt to process all cancellation requests within 72 hours after we receive your request. If you have purchased a fee-based Service from us, any such termination or cancellation is subject to the refund policy described in the Additional Terms. From time to time certain members do not comply with the terms and conditions in the Terms of Use. If we determine, in our sole discretion, that you are not in compliance with the Terms of Use, we reserve the right to terminate your membership. Upon any termination or cancellation of your membership, we may immediately deactivate or delete your membership and all related information and/or bar any further access to your membership or information."

I did this, it was a hassle, but it worked! Good luck...

P.S. I do not remember how to get to or contact the Member Care Department. You may have to sign in to find it, or find it in "help" or something... I did find it, so it must be there somewhere... I hope you can figure out how to contact them! Since my account is cancelled I can't sign in to figure out how to do it. But I still hope I helped.

EDIT AGAIN: Okay okay this might help. It was found at http://www.classmates.com/cmo/privacy.js... under "CHANGING, CORRECTING OR REMOVING YOUR INFORMATION"

"If you wish to have your membership removed from the Site for any reason, simply use our online registration removal process at http://www.classmates.com/user/remove/. If you have any problem removing your membership, please request assistance from Member Care. Upon removal of membership from the Site, we may retain Your Information for a period of time in our internal databases and systems."

Psh, the Member Care link leads to http://www.classmates.com/help/quality_c...

which is just the Help section. Classmates.com sucks!!!
Reply:I just canceled my subscription after having the same issue that you did. I had to call (425) 873-1342, wich I found by going to an AT%26amp;T ANYWHO online directory. Then I had to trick the system because all options were automated answers. You have to be in the main menu and when it asks if you want to choose a parties extension by name press in the last name of "smith". Then when you get into the voice mail you have to press 0 and that will take you to the receptionist. Then I told them I wanted to speak to a customer rep. and NOT an automated service becuase that was the only options that they had on their menu. They FINALLY gave me to a rep and from their they cancled and refunded me and gave me a confirmation number just in case I did not see the action taking place. I just did this about five minutes ago. Good luck!
